Review:
Soul calibur is a fighting game where the characters you create can demolish you no matter how ridiculous it may look. A fighting game that asserts its dominance to the other fighting games by having all fighters use different weapons and giving the players to create their own character based on the fighting styles present on the game.

before anything else i'd like to boast my skills in using Mitsurugi as he is my main

Knowing that they have to mix it up in order to compete with other fighting games, Soul Calibur broke the grounds by presenting 30 characters in which 2 characters are new to the game, giving the player the ability to create their own characters based on these character's fighting style.

The game gives the user 5 different fighting modes, first is the standard Arcade mode or in this game the "Quick Match" where you select different difficulties of opponents to face yada yada standard fighting game stuff.

The gauntlet is where players can learn basic stuff about fighting in game and some complicated ideas and instructions, it is more or less the tutorial mode of this game not to be confused with the training mode in which the player can test out the moves they've learned or wanna learn.

Trials are the mode for experienced players who seek to challenge themselves. The trial mode has three versions. The trial of attack, defense and endless trials. In the trial of attack, the better the player can chain attacks and combos the higher their score will be while in the trial of defense the score scales with how well the player can guard. And in the endless trials, the player must survive and endure countless fights.

i recommend the character Hilde for beginners as she boasts short and mid-range attacks keeping you out of danger.

My Verdict for this Game:

(9/10)
This game is one of my favorite pastimes as i almost spent a literal day creating a squad of characters and testing each one out, moreover the game is really beginner friendly with its dedicated mode for tutorials and some characters having easy to use movesets. Though the dialogues are a bit cringy but hey that isn't what you play this for.
